romney or ryan will be in the buckeye state until election day. the problem that they have is that where the message nationally might be on all sorts of different things, on ohio, the president has visited ohio more than any other state since he was elected and he has always pounded the issues of auto bailout, and that it is crucial. in addition to the president being able to say hey i helped save the auto makers, and mitt romney wanted to let them go a bankrupt that's a potent message in ohio. sherrod brown has done an incredible job of organizing unions and making sure that hardcore democrats get to the polls regardless of what is going on with president obama. it's a pretty safe state as safe states go when you're talking about a four or five point difference. the obama campaign is extremely confident that they'll win ohio and a couple of other states that will get them the numbers they need. as far as the national numbers. what about the national numbers don't they matter? i had an opportunity to talk to obama's strategist and adviser he said the way to understand national numbers wh
men on the ticket, obama, biden, ryan and romney are in wisconsin because it is that tight. and if wisconsin goes for mitt romney, that will be a shocking development. republicans lost the state by 14 points four years ago. >> geraldo: ohio. everyone is talking about the buckeye state. what about ohio, scott? >> ohio is very close. showing it tied right now. that is a state again where the democrats actually think they had the edge on the ground. almost all of the polling has shown anything from a tie to a slight obama lead. this is a state that democrats are very confident they can hang on to. the president really needs to win both ohio and wisconsin if he wants to keep his job. romney needs to win one of those two. >> geraldo: iowa? >> iowa, another tie state. this this midwest that is become the pattern. the des moines register came out and for the first time in decades endorsed the republican candidate. why? the economy is the key issue. and in all of these states what we are starting to see is voters are saying they trust romney more than obama when it comes to the eco

's why he's not answering the question and furthermore he chose as his running mate congressman ryan who has proposed to cut fema by 43%. tell that to the lines of people lined up to get water and food today and yesterday. these high rises, they have volunteers running up and down taking water and food to 345ema people that are seniors. i thought the timing of campaigning today with eric cantor in virginia, virginia is hard-hit, too, and eric cantor also advocated that there should not be one federal dollar spent for fema unless there was an offset where you cut, what, medicare, medicaid? what are you going to cut to account for any expenditure? and fema is saving lives. not only are they saving lives in this recovery with food and water and batteries and blankets, but the recovery. they have loans to help people get back on their feet, these small businesses that have lost all their produce, all their inventory, all their food. they don't even have the money to restock. it will guarantee a bridge loan with the bank. >> i'm delighted you mentioned the great eric cantor because he was out
